As you can see from the image, it's a pretty detailed carving made out of silver. It is not ostentatiously large. The chain doesn't hang nearly as low as I was worried it might; however you could swap the chain out even if you do prefer something different. I just received it today and have been wearing it ever since I got it. I am perfectly satisfied with this purchase.
